Frequently Asked Questions
Painting
NMC cornices should be painted with PVA contractors' paint, solvent free.
Glue
NMC products are installed with NMC Adefix acrylic glue (pre-mixed). It also acts as a filler and forms an expansion joint
where two lengths of cornice are joined.
Joins
Lengths are butt-jointed with a glue bed in-between. Once dry, joins are sanded smooth using a fine (100 grit) sandpaper.
Lengths
NMC cornices are supplied in 2m lengths (packaged in cardboard cartons) for ease of transportation, storage and single
installer handling.
Cutting
NMC cornices are cut with a polystyrene saw available from your local NMC distributor. A regular hacksaw may be used for
smaller DIY applications. Trimming is done with a utility knife.
Surfaces
NMC Adefix adhesive adheres well to painted walls, plaster, wall paper, ceramic tiles, wood (built-in cupboards) - even
glass!
